Key takeaways
- Verify the address where clients are treated, keep it visible on the profile, and leave service areas empty.
- Make the profile name, suite number and hours match your door sign before you press record.
- Renting a room inside a tattoo studio or med spa? Your own sign and door have to be visible on camera.
- After verification, keep ownership in the clinic's name and change one thing at a time.
To verify a Google Business Profile for a tattoo removal clinic, verify the address where clients are treated and keep it showing. The service-area setup is for businesses that travel to their customers, and your clients come to you. Google most often asks for a video recorded in the Maps app, so first get your signage, name and hours to agree.
Verifying a storefront location
A clinic verifies as a storefront because the address is the business: every consultation and every session happens in your room. Google's guidelines expect a business that serves customers at its location to show that address, and to have someone there when the profile says it is open (Google's guidelines). Don't add a list of towns to reach further. Wider reach comes from reviews and from pages for the nearby areas clients travel from.
Two setups are common in removal and need extra care:
- A room inside a tattoo studio. Google sees two businesses at one address. Yours needs its own name on a sign, its own phone number and hours you keep. If the only sign out front belongs to the studio, the video has no way to show that your clinic is there.
- A suite in a med spa or medical building. Use the suite number exactly as it appears on your lease and your door, in the same format on the profile, the website and booking confirmations.
Which profile type to verify
Do customers come to your address?
- Yes Storefront profile Show the address customers visit Your business
- No Service-area profile Hide the address, set the area you serve
- Both Address and service area If customers visit and you also travel
Verification steps
- Match the name to the door. The profile name should be the name on your sign and your business registration. Don't bolt "laser" or a town onto it unless the sign says it.
- Set hours you staff. List the hours someone is there to let a client in. If you treat by appointment on set days, show those days, not a full week.
- Clear the frame. Before you film, make sure no clients are in the treatment room, no consent forms or charts are visible, the booking calendar is off every screen, and no identifiable client photos are on the wall.
- Record one continuous take. Start outside with the sign and the street or a nearby landmark. Walk to your entrance or suite number, go inside to the treatment room and the laser, then show proof you run the place, such as unlocking the door or holding up a business document (Google's verification help).
- Submit and leave it alone. Review can take several business days. Don't edit the name, address or category while it is pending.
Why verification fails
Verification usually fails on a mismatch between the profile and what the camera shows, not on the video quality.
| What the reviewer sees | Why it fails | The fix |
|---|---|---|
| The studio's sign outside, your name on the profile | Nothing proves your clinic is at the address | Put your own sign at the entrance or on the suite door |
| A suite number missing, or written differently | The address on camera doesn't match the profile | Use the lease format everywhere |
| A video that cuts, or skips from the street to the laser | It is not one continuous take | Re-record in one go, from outside to inside |
| Profile hours that don't match the door | The location looks unstaffed | Show only the hours you are there |
| "Laser Tattoo Removal" plus a town as the name | Keywords in the name break the guidelines | Use your real-world name |
If an attempt fails, fix the mismatch and try again. Don't open a second profile. If the notice says suspended rather than unverified, it is a different process, covered in the reinstatement guide for removal clinics.
Protecting the profile afterward
Treat the verified profile like the clinic's main phone line, because for many new clients it is the first thing they tap.
- Keep ownership in the clinic's name. Add an agency or web person as a manager, never as the primary owner.
- Make big edits one at a time. A new name, a move to another suite and a new category in the same week invite another review.
- Time a move around your season. If you relocate, avoid the weeks before January or graduation and job-search season, when a profile under review costs the most consultations.
- Check suggested edits weekly. Anyone can suggest new hours or a different category. Reject the wrong ones before they go live.
- Keep a proof folder. Your lease, a utility bill, the registration and current sign photos, so a re-verification takes an afternoon instead of weeks (Google's suspension help).
How VETS Growth Marketing helps
We line up the name, suite, hours and signage before anyone presses record, plan the walk-through so no client details end up on camera, and build out the profile once it is verified. Ownership stays with your clinic. The work has a finish date, and we report what the profile produces in calls and booked consultations. Book a growth consultation and we will check the profile before you film.
